PSv5 Option Screen Details!

VGA(480x640) - QVGA(240x320)

    >> Option Screen #1 <<

  • Device Auto-Off: Delay ?? sec.:
  • This option allows a setting that will 'Turn-Off' the device in the user defined amount of time. This, combined with other functions can give the lock / turn-off effect!
  • Sounds: 'Lock & Auto-Off':
  • A Sounds folder is installed in the \Program Files\Pocket Secure folder, that contains sound files (.WAV format). These are "user changeable" to any sounds, but if replaced, the new sound files 'Must' have the same names as the current! "Lock" sound will be played whenever the program starts, and the "Auto-Off" sound will be played just before shutdown, but only when the "Device Auto-Off" feature is selected!
  • Start After ?? Min of Inactivity":
  • This feature will Auto-Start Pocket Secure after a user defined amount of time that no screen taps are detected! This is very useful if the device is left unattended for a period of time, then will 'Auto-Lock' to secure your device! When this feature is enabled, an additional hidden feature for Shutdown and the Exclude List access will display. To the far right side of this feature is a ‘Magnifying Glass Icon’. This lets the user add programs to a list that Pocket Secure will "Ignore" when using the Run After Inactivity feature. If you find that this feature is not working, try adding programs to this list that may be causing ‘system activity’! Accepted files for this list are in EXE & DLL formats.
  • Tabs :
  • Also at the bottom of the 'Options' screen, there are (4) 'Tabs'. These will toggle between the 'Options #1, Options #2, Options #3 & Options #4 screens.

    >> Option Screen #2 <<

  • Run After Reset - Delay ?? Sec.:
  • This option allows Pocket Secure to 'Automatically Run' following a Soft Reset of the device. To check this box, will 'Maximize' Security by not allowing even a Soft Reset to close the program, because it will re-start !! But BE CAREFUL ! If you forget the password, and this box (and 'Disable ActiveSync Option) is checked, then only a HARD RESET can unlock the device !! The 'Delay' entry time will allow for all of the device's main 'Startup' files to be loaded before the program runs.(System files, Plugins... Etc.) (20-25 Sec) seems to work fine, but adjust to preference! *Note: It is suggested to NOT check this option until sure that Pocket Secure works properly on "your" device!!
  • Start At Power-On: Delay ?? Sec.:
  • This option will simply allow Pocket Secure to Automatically Run when the 'Device is Turned On'. With this option checked, the user can simply turn off the device when not in use, and when 'Powered On', the device will "Lock" within a few seconds! The 'Delay' entry time will be needed if the 'Screen Pics & Skins' are stored on a Storage Card. Upon 'Power-On, all devices will need a very short time to initialize the Storage Cards, and will give Pocket Secure a 'Short Delay' before looking for Skins & Pics. (3-5 Sec.) seems to work fine. If the user chooses to store Skins & Pics in 'Main Storage Memory', then a delay may not be needed!
  • Image:
  • If left unchecked, then the 'Current Screen' will be captured & displayed, when Pocket Secure is started.. If checked, then tap the 'Magnifying Glass Icon' button on the right, to choose an image from your device for the 'Main ScreenPic Display' ! This can be Any Image. (240 x 320 for QVGA, and 480 x 640 for VGA devices). Supported formats are JPG, BMP, GIF, & PNG. When choosing images, multiple images may be selected at once by navigating to the folder containing the images, then starting from the right side of the list "Tap & Drag" to the left, then down to highlight desired files!
  • Slide Show:
  • When this feature is chosen, you can create a list of images, and add the seconds for image change for a "Slide Show Effect", or choose only one for display (when 'Use Slideshow' is Not ticked), to display a single background. In addition, the "Stretch Image To Fill Screen" option, will allow the same images to be used in Portrait & Landscape Modes, or a smaller image to display full screen!
  • Skin:
  • If this option is left unchecked, then the 'Default' Program Skin (Background, Buttons, Fonts & Colors) will be displayed when the program is run. If checked, then tap the 'Magnifying Glass Icon' button on the right, to choose a '???.skin' file with its associated images. External skins can be stored anywhere on the device! *** Note: Please read the included text file "VGA/QVGA Skin Bitmap Name Order-Size.txt", which explains the Skin's Bitmap Image Sizes, ???.skin file Setup Order, and Color Entries. Also included is the "Skin Font Color Chart.txt", which gives 'Many' Color Choices for the Skin Text Colors! Please follow the 'Skin / BMP / Color' instructions closely, otherwise the skin will Not display properly, or Error Messages will display !!!! A full 'Tutorial' is also in the PS Support Forum!

  • Files Encryption:
  • As an added level of security, AES 128bit Encryption is available for Long & Short Term use! Choose the type that you want and add files to the list for encryption.
  • * "Long Term":
  • Files added to this list will be encrypted and saved using an ‘Additional Password’, different from the current program password. These files can be stored anywhere, and will remain encrypted until the user Decrypts!
  • * "Short Term":
  • Files added to this list will be encrypted and saved using the ‘Current Program Password’, and will remain encrypted ‘only’ while Pocket Secure is running! Upon exiting the program, these files will automatically be decrypted, as well as automatically encrypted again the next time Pocket Secure is run!
  • * "Decrypt":
  • If Encrypted files were moved from the device and not on the active encryption list, or if the list was cleared after a re-install, then this search screen can find all encrypted files on the device. As long as the password is remembered, the files can be Decrypted & restored!

    >> Option Screen #3 <<

  • Use Numeric Keypad:
  • When this feature is enabled, a 'Full Screen Keypad' will be displayed first when the main screen is tapped. This allows a "Numeric Only" password to be entered with your finger or stylus! To access the other options, just tap the "X" button, and this will return to the 'Normal Password Screen', where all options will again be available! When the Keypad is enabled, an additional hidden feature for Button Sounds will also be displayed!

  • Password Screen Note:
  • By default when this feature is disabled, the PS Logo & Version Number are displayed at the bottom of the Main Password Screen. When this feature is enabled however, up to 3 lines or approximately 15 words can be displayed as entered in the Device Owner Info "Notes" area. This can be ‘Any’ text that the user wishes to enter there!
  • Disable Password:
  • This feature will disable the program password so that the user will only need to tap the OK button to exit and unlock the device. This can be used when security is not important, and when the user wants to just use other program features without needing the password to unlock. The password would still be needed if "Password Protect Options" are enabled, or to save any settings changes!
  • Hide Owner Info:
  • On the registered version of the program, the Owner Info is displayed on the About Screen as entered in the Owner Information section of the device. Some users may wish to keep this info "Private" when the device is locked, so using this feature will "Hide" this info and replace with the text "Private Owner"!
  • Program Sounds Settings:
  • Up to 7 sounds (5 on 2003 devices) can be set here. The program includes 7 default sounds, but any sounds stored anywhere on the device can be chosen and assigned to the listed features.
